Burma Star Association - B.C. Chapter

Our small branch (about 75 members) organized and hosted not one, but two worldwide reunions. The first in 1993 was attended by over 500 guests, and our second in 1997 attracted about 300. Both were a resounding success and even today we still receive compliments and are even asked when we are going to do a repeat!
Unfortunately we are all much older now and the logistics would prove too great a burden. At present we even have trouble trying to recruit new volunteers to fill executives posts for our branch. But we do have lots of fond recollections of the things we did together and the lasting friendships we all made.
Mr. George Leigh, who was instrumental in founding this Branch of the Burma Star Association, was the originator of these two reunions and without George they would not have taken place. But although George made them happen, he delegated a committee of roughly 10 volunteers who worked tirelessly for two years ahead of each of these events to make them the success they were. The smiles, comments and praises we received were more than ample reward for our dedicated work.
Below is part of the brochure we distributed at that time. Those who attended will see their names on the Nominal Roll. Those who didn't attend are still regretting it!
