The 69th anniversary of the Battle of Britain was remembered on Sunday, September 20, at Boundary Bay Airport, a training site for thousands of World War II air crew. German bombers attacked London nightly. Children were sent away to the countryside, while adults spent nights in the subways to escape the explosions. The event included a flypass by vintage Harvard and Tiger Moth training aircraft. The reviewing officer was Her Mjesty's Deputy Consul General, Sarah Clegg. Other events were held throughout Canada.

A memorial service for Mike Downing was held on Saturday, January 24, at the First Baptist Church in Vancouver. The service was well attended by BC Branch members and others.
